    Samburu National reserve is home to some of the rarest animals species in Kenya. Encounter the beautiful gravy zebras, gerunuk antelopes, Masai ostriches and herds of elephants. Olpejeta conservancy has many species also that are on the verge of extinction.

    The northern frontier also has a wonderful landscape ranging from mountains like the holy mountain of the samburu also known as Mt Olololokwe, the sandy rivers of Ewaso ngiro e.t.c.

    4-Days  Samburu and Ol Pejeta Wild Safari

    This trip will cover 2 amazing conservancies in Kenya.  One of them being Samburu  where you get to experience the culture diversity of the Samburu people as you enjoy nature and the perfect wild experiences of the reserve.  Ol Pejeta is the largest black rhino sanctuary in east Africa, and home to two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhino. It is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, in a Sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market. It has some of the highest predator densities in Kenya, and still manages a very successful livestock programme.

    Day 1NAIROBI – Samburu

    Nairobi to Samburu
    Depart from Nairobi after breakfast, pick up will be at your hotel/airport. Drive towards the Mount Kenya region and have lunch at Nanyuki at the trout tree restaurant. This a restaurant where you will enjoy the best trout Kenya has to offer on a tree top restaurant. Drive past the equator while enjoying the majestic views Mt Kenya. From Nanyuki drive to Samburu for the night.

    Day 2Samburu Game Reserve

    After Breakfast you will have the whole day to enjoy the abundance of rare northern specialist species such as the Gravy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx (Also referred as Samburu Special). The reserve is also popular with a minimum elephants. Large predators such as the Lion, Leopard and Cheetah are an important attraction (Kamunyak the Miracle Lioness that adapted the baby Oryx is a resident in the reserve). Bird life is abundant with over 450 species recorded. Birds of the arid northern bush country are augmented by a number of riverine forest species. Lesser Kestrel, Taita Falcon is a species of global conservation concern and they both utilize the reserve. Five species categorized as vulnerable have recorded in the reserve. These are African Darter, Great Egret, White headed Vulture, Martial Eagle and the Yellow billed Ox pecker. Critically endangered species Pancake tortoise (malacochersus tornieri) is found in the reserve.

    Day 3SAMBURU- Ol Pejeta

    After Breakfast drive down to Nanyuki leisurely enjoying the sprawling wheat farms and the beautiful country side of the northern kenya. Olpejeta has pioneering conservation projects that have made it famous to spectacular sightings of black and white rhino and the Big Five. The Conservancy boasts of an astounding variety of animals including all the “Big Five” (the endangered black Rhino, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Lion). The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience.
